About

A desk with a stack of papers, a pen, a steaming cup, and a tablet in front of large windows with sunlight streaming through, surrounded by potted plants.

Gregory Thayer writes fiction that examines moral awareness, quiet defiance, and the tension between comfort and conscience, often within the systems and institutions that shape how people live and work.

His debut novel, Pale Privileges, Dark Roast, explores these themes through contemporary workplace fiction.

Before turning to fiction, he worked as a technical writer and product manager—experiences that sharpened his interest in how people think, how they choose, and the stories they tell to make sense of the world.

When he’s not writing, he’s probably riding his bike, reading, watching his favorite sports team lose, or exploring new coffee spots.
